Gozde Gokozan
CEO / Director

Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC is a licensed psychotherapist who founded Therapia Psychotherapy Group in 2019. Gozde works with a diverse group of clients via virtual and in-person appointments in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. She received her Master of Science in Applied Child Psychology from Kingston University in London, England. Later, she received her Post Master's Certificate in Child and Family Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from New York University (NYU) in New York. Then, she received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. Gozde is currently a doctoral candidate in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

She completed her intensive training in the practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Maple Counseling Center in Los Angeles and specialized in working with patients at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital who have Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (mTBI). 

As a psychotherapist, Gozde has experience working with a wide range of clients including adults, couples, and children who have developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social Communication Disorder, and tic disorder. She provides a unique psychotherapy approach to treat a wide variety of conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, challenges specific to the LGBTQ+ community, attachment issues, PTSD, OCD, kleptomania, and grief.

Gozde has a wealth of experience working with both couples and families. She completed an intensive Emotional-Focused Therapy externship treating couples, and currently works with heterosexual couples, same-sex couples, and people who want to explore open relationships or polyamory. Gozde specializes in infertility, adoption, and diverse family formation (families formed through the use of reproductive technologies, adoption, surrogacy, same-sex parents, and those who choose to remain childless). She works with parents to manage their stress and anxiety throughout their family-building process, whether that be fertility treatments, third party reproduction, or adoption. 

Gozde also specializes in working with children and adults who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Disorder (Asperger’s Syndrome). She approaches ASD as a cognitive style and helps her clients to cope with their diagnoses by teaching them the skills and strategies they need to manage their lives with less anxiety.

Finally, Gozde is also a certified EMDR therapist and uses this therapy, along with a mindfulness practice, to treat many different issues including Big "T" traumas, anxiety, stress, OCD, and social phobias. She currently facilitates grief and mTBI process groups for children and adults.

Gozde is multicultural and multilingual; she has lived in the United States, England and Turkey. This allows her to understand cultural differences in human behavior and thought. She can provide therapy in both English and Turkish.

Parsa Peykar
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Parsa Peykar, MA, AMFT is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 129237) and a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 10470) providing individual, couple, children, and group psychotherapy under the supervision of Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC (MFT 100478). Parsa earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and currently a doctoral candidate in Industrial and Organizational psychology from the Liberty University. He received weekly trainings at the reputable Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills where he learned about psychodynamic in depth and worked with adults and couples. Parsa’s clinical experience includes working with people who are experiencing challenges related to self-esteem, confidence,trauma, identity, career transition, immigration, workplace and relationship conflicts. Parsa specializes in working with clients who are facing self-confidence, self-esteem, career and life transitions challenges.

Parsa believes one of the bravest things you can do in life is begin to understand your own story. As a psychotherapist, he helps you identify: (1) problem areas and patterns that are causing distress, (2) the source(s) of these issues, and (3) ways to enact positive change to find your unique voice. He believes in the uniqueness of each individual and providing a safe space in which client takes the path of self-discovery and reaching their fullest potential. Through therapy sessions, client’s unique experience and identity are honored and celebrated. Even though psychodynamic therapy is Parsa’s main modality, he understands and adjusts his approach for each unique client’s story and path. He also applies existential and cognitive behavioral therapy in helping clients to find meaning through their suffering and being able to change their limiting beliefs.

Lastly, Parsa teaches psychology part time at the Pepperdine Graduate School of Psychology and Education as an adjunct professor and is also a published international author. He is a multicultural and bilingual psychotherapist which allows him to provide therapy in both English and Farsi.

Liz Doyle
Clinical Associate / AMFT 137352

Liz Doyle, MA, AMFT is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 137352) conducting individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy under the supervision of Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC (MFT 100478). Liz earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and received extensive training at Cancer Support Community Los Angeles, where she worked with adults, children, and families for nearly two years. Her clinical experience includes working with people who are struggling with anticipatory grief, grief, loss, chronic illness, caregiving, anxiety, depression, medical trauma, identity, retirement, sexuality, transitions, and relationships of all kinds.

Liz specializes in working with life transitions, the exploration of identity and values, feelings of loss of control, death anxiety, grief, existential exploration, and relational issues. While primarily utilizing an existential lense, Liz also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, and Gestalt techniques into her work. Therapy is an opportunity to partner with a compassionate and dedicated person who will be with you as you explore opportunities for change and healing, learn skills and practices that can help with this process, and become more fully the person you want to be. Liz believes that this partnership is the foundation for an increased sense of freedom, control, meaningfulness, authenticity and well-being, and dedicates herself to her clients as they progress together.
